Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 6, 2026  ·  Last updated: August 6, 2026

Eva makes software for nail and hair salons in the United States. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Eva apps and website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can see, correct, or delete it.

The short version. We identify you by your mobile phone number. We collect what we need to book your appointment, check you in, and track your rewards — and not more. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising. You can delete your Eva account at any time.

1. Who we are

Eva — Smart Salon Assistant (“Eva”, “we”, “us”) is a salon software platform developed and supported in the United States and offered to salons operating in U.S. markets. You can reach us at eva@eva-solution.net.

2. Which apps this covers

This policy covers:

Most of this policy is about the customer app, because that is where personal information about salon guests is handled.

3. Your salon’s role and ours

This distinction matters, so we want to be plain about it.

Your relationship is with your salon. The salon decides what services to offer, what its rewards program is worth, and what to do with its own business records. Eva provides the software the salon uses to run all of that.

So there are two kinds of information in the system:

KindWho controls it
Your Eva app account — your phone number, name, optional email and birthday, notification token, and the list of salons you followWe do. You can change or delete this yourself at any time.
Your salon’s business records — your appointments, check-in history, reward point balance, gift cards, and messages with the salonYour salon does. We hold and process these on the salon’s behalf. To have them changed or removed, ask the salon directly — and see section 11.

If you visit more than one Eva salon, each salon is shown only its own records about you in the Eva apps. We restrict access so that a salon works with its own customers’ information, and we are continuing to strengthen those controls as more salons join the platform.

4. What we collect

We collect only what the feature you are using actually needs. Nothing in this table is optional-in-name-only: where we say optional, the app works without it.

InformationRequired?When and why
Mobile phone numberRequiredThis is how we identify you. You sign in by entering your number and the 6-digit code we text you. It is also the key that links you to the visit history you already had at the salon before you installed the app.
NameRequiredSo the salon knows who is booking and who has arrived, and so staff can greet you by name.
Email addressOptionalOnly if you choose to enter it during sign-up. Used for receipts and salon updates.
BirthdayOptionalOnly if you choose to enter it. We ask for month and day only — we do not ask for your birth year. Used for birthday offers.
Appointments and check-insCreated by useDate, time, service, technician, and salon for each booking or check-in you make.
Reward points and gift cardsCreated by usePoint balance, points earned and redeemed, and gift card balances at each salon.
MessagesCreated by useMessages you send to your salon in the app, including any photo you choose to attach. Some replies are generated automatically by Eva’s assistant rather than typed by a person; the app labels these.
Approximate locationOptionalOnly at the moment you tap “I’m on my way.” We use it once, to estimate your driving time so the salon knows when to expect you. See section 5.
PhotosOptionalOnly the specific photo you pick to send to your salon in a chat. We do not scan or browse your photo library.
Bluetooth signals nearbyOptionalOnly to detect your salon’s own check-in beacon while you have the app open at the front desk. See section 5.
Notification tokenOptionalIf you allow notifications, so we can tell you an appointment was confirmed or points were added.
Basic device and app informationAutomaticApp version and device type, and server logs needed to keep the service running and to investigate problems.

What we do not collect. We do not collect your payment card numbers in the customer app — there is no way to pay inside it; you pay the salon directly. We do not track your location in the background. We do not read your contacts. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not use advertising identifiers.

5. Phone permissions we ask for

Your phone will ask your permission before any of these. You can say no, and you can change your mind later in your phone’s settings. Saying no turns off that one feature; the rest of the app keeps working.

PermissionWhat it is actually used for
CameraScanning your salon’s check-in QR code, and scanning a salon’s code to connect to it. The camera is only active while that screen is open.
PhotosAttaching a photo you choose to a message to your salon. We receive only the photo you pick.
Location — while using the appEstimating your arrival time, only when you tap “I’m on my way.” We request this as a one-time, foreground reading. The app does not have background location access and cannot follow you when it is closed.
BluetoothRecognising the check-in beacon your salon keeps at its front desk, so you can check in without typing anything. The app looks only for Eva salon beacons and reads no other devices. Background Bluetooth is disabled. We do not use Bluetooth to work out where you are otherwise.
NotificationsAppointment confirmations and reminders, reward point updates, and replies from your salon.

6. Why we use it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles.

7. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the following, and only as needed:

WhoWhat they receive and why
The salons you followYour name, phone number, appointments, check-ins, points, gift cards, and messages at that salon — so they can serve you. A salon sees only its own records.
Telnyx (telecommunications)Your phone number, to deliver verification codes and appointment text messages.
Google Firebase / Google Cloud (hosting and database)Stores the platform’s data on our behalf.
Railway (application hosting)Runs the Eva server on our behalf.
Expo (push notifications)Your notification token, to deliver notifications to your device.
Google Maps PlatformApproximate coordinates, once, when you tap “I’m on my way,” to calculate a driving estimate.

These providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect the rights and safety of users, salons, or Eva. If Eva is ever acquired or merged, personal information may transfer as part of that transaction, and this policy will continue to apply until you are told otherwise.

8. Text messages

When you enter your phone number to sign in, we text you a verification code. If you book an appointment, we may text you a confirmation or reminder, and your salon may text you about your visit or a review request.

Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to any marketing message to opt out. Note that verification codes and transactional messages about an appointment you booked are part of the service — if you opt out of those, you will not be able to sign in.

We do not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing.

9. How long we keep it

10. Your choices and rights

Regardless of where you live, you can:

Depending on your state, you may have additional rights — including the right to know what personal information is collected and disclosed, the right to correct or delete it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of on that front. To make a request, email us; we will verify your identity using the phone number on your account before we act, and we will respond within the time your state’s law allows.

11. Deleting your account

You can ask us to delete your Eva account at any time by emailing eva@eva-solution.net from the account you want removed, or by including the phone number on the account so we can verify it.

What deletion does: we delete your Eva app account — your profile, your saved name, email and birthday, your notification token, the list of salons you follow, and your sign-in sessions. You will be signed out and will disappear from the app.

What deletion does not do, and we want you to know this before you decide. Your salon’s own business records about your visits — appointments, check-in history, reward point balance, and gift cards — belong to the salon and are kept, in the same way a salon keeps its paper appointment book and its punch cards. They are held against your phone number.

This has a practical consequence: if you later install Eva again and sign in with the same phone number, your salon will recognise you and your existing reward points will still be there. That is usually what people want, but it means deleting the app account is not a way to erase your history at the salon.

If you want your salon to erase its records about you as well, ask the salon directly, or email us and we will pass your request to the salon and help them action it. Some records may need to be kept where the salon has a legal or tax obligation to keep them.

12. Children

The Eva customer app is intended for adults booking salon services and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it. If a guardian books a service for a minor, the account and phone number should be the guardian’s.

13. Security

We protect your information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit, signed sign-in tokens that expire, limits on repeated verification attempts, and access controls on who may reach the platform’s data. The customer app never touches our database directly — it can only ask our server, and the server returns just the information belonging to the phone number you signed in with. That is why one customer cannot reach another customer’s appointments, points, or messages.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the “last updated” date at the top. If the change is significant — for example if we start collecting something new — we will tell you in the app or by text or email before it takes effect.
